The University of Southern California is one of the world’s leading private research universities. Founded in 1880 when Los Angeles was little more than a frontier town, USC has become home to more than 43,000 students and nearly 4,000 full-time faculty. Notable alumni include astronaut Neil Armstrong, pro football Hall of Famers Marcus Allen and Ronnie Lott, Los Angeles Lakers’ owner Jerry Buss, television producer and writer Shonda Rhimes and numerous other politicians, scientists, entertainers and athletes.
As one of the largest universities and employers in California, USC needed to streamline its process of working with its partners to service its vast marketing and communications needs. The Pace Group, led by Director, Client Solutions Alan Bernstein, participated in a rigorous RFP process designed to ensure that all of USC’s chosen preferred partners met or surpassed the university’s own standards of excellence.
“We had been working with a number of schools and departments at the university for many years,” Alan says. “If it were even possible, we needed to rise to another level of performance to receive this very important stamp of approval from USC.”
Since becoming a preferred partner, USC has turned to The Pace Group to execute on some of its most important, challenging and high profile projects. One such project was the production of An Olympic Heritage, a book documenting the University of Southern California’s “108 years of athletic greatness on the world stage.”
“Simply put,” notes Alan, “the university did not trust anyone other than The Pace Group to ensure the book was as impressive as the athletes inside it. We are extremely proud that USC puts its faith in us as a vital partner in their success.”
