Dead Poets Society is the film that introduced the world to Robin Williams, the serious Actor with a capital A. We were also introduced to a fresh-faced Ethan Hawke, not to mention lesser known but not lesser talents such as Robert Sean Leonard and Josh Charles.
But, beyond that, Dead Poets Society is also the film that inspired many people to Carpe Diem, to seize the day and go after their dreams, whatever they may be.
In this scene, Williams as poetry teacher John Keating, drives Hawke’s Todd Anderson to break through his fear and sound his “barbaric yawp” to the world.
